Lockerbie High Street: lead work on Town Hall windows

A Lockerbie constituent has expressed concern at the easily accessible lead surrounds in the ground floor windows at the Town Hall on the High Street – I raised this will officers as to the wisdom of protecting this in some way, maybe with a tasteful transparent covering, as it could be seen as valuable and very difficult to replace. I’ve since been advised that although there is potentially a risk, this was assessed as being very low due to the very public visibility of the windows on the High Street, the CCTV cameras in place, the low price of lead these days, and the assurance that there were a number of suppliers and specialists known to Property Services that could repair or replace should the worst happen.
