Level One (Introductory Seminar)

This is a Level One training seminar designed for companies and third sector organisations
that have little or no experience of tendering and would like to become ‘tender ready’.
This level is designed to help businesses decide if tendering for public sector contracts is
for them and how to go about it.
There will be presentations on the national framework for the management of public
sector contracts and from Dumfries and Galloway Council on its procurement processes.
The seminar will be followed by a free lunch which will provide opportunities to network.
Quality Management Policy Workshop
Dumfries, DGOne Leisure Complex, Tuesday 2 May 2013 (2pm to 5pm)
This is a level One/Two workshop designed for companies and third sector organisations
that do not to date have standard required quality management documents in place. The
workshop is also relevant for companies that wish to update their existing policies.
The workshop shows the standard of your business processes when carrying out a
contract. You will also learn to improve in the tendering process on the basis of quality

• Quality Management and ISO 9001: What is Quality Management? What is ISO 9001?
Benefits to your business and tendering advantages.
• Building your system: Policy, standards and legislation. Documented system. Full ISO
9001 certification. Costs and timescales.
• What to do next? Information sources. Implementing your system – you vs. a
consultant. Choosing your certification body (UKAS accreditation).
• Completion of Tenders: Review of Scottish government PQQ. Top
‘Quality’ tender questions and how to answer them

have some experience of tendering with varying success but would like to become more
