I now have exactly 16 leaflets left after delivering most of the remainder in Parkgate this afternoon. Good timing it turns out as SNP HQ had emailed me after a Parkgate voter had contacted them to say they hadn’t received any information on their local SNP candidate for the upcoming election (3 days to go…)
I was able to contact the voter before setting off to make sure they got a little more information about the local issues I would be standing on, as well as some Referendum questions and answers about the benefits of an autonomous Scottish Government. It turns out they lived near the Barony College so I was able to work back from there and deliver leaflets to as many houses as I could. Parkgate’s most noticeable employer is Clark Engineering which is easily seen from the A701 between Moffat and Dumfries.
I’m intending to get to the Lochmaben Community Council meeting tomorrow night so will try to use the leaflets for any more out-of-the-way or isolated homes that haven’t been visited yet.
